Anura is a British Metahuman and one of the founding members of the Teen Titans. She is the daughter of the Dark Knight, and a strong and caring nurse, Lorraine Susan Gentry. She is The Boy Wonder's adopted sister and the main character of User:EllietheDemon's fanfiction series; Somewhere I Belong: A Teen Titans Story.

History

Before the Titans

Anura was born Eleanor May Carter, daughter to a genetics researcher in the British branch in STAR Labs, Lorraine Susan Gentry. Longing for a child of her own, Lorraine decided to create a child by fertilizing a frog egg with human DNA. The test was a success and Anura was born. However STAR Labs caught wind of Lorraine's research and fired her because they got paranoid and thought Anura was a danger, when they found who's DNA was used to create her, Bruce Wayne's DNA.

So, Lorraine and Anura immigrated to Gotham City, in hopes of a better life. When Anura turned three years old, Lorraine met a strong, but gentle mechanic named Stephen Henderson. The two fell in love, got married and had another daughter named Samantha.

Life was good, until one day, when Anura was only 6 years old, the Joker attacked Stephen's workplace and shot Stephen, for trying to be brave. Distraught by the event, Lorraine took her own life, leaving Anura and Samantha in foster care.

Anura was adopted into a family, known as the Carters, that weren't very found of superheroes or villains alike, so they had a habit of moving city to city. They have moved from Gotham to Metropolis. Star City to Central City. You name it, they've been there. Much to Anura's struggle to adjust and make friends.

Founding the Teen Titans

A year earlier, Anura and her foster family moved from Gotham City to Jump City to get away from the superheroes and super-villains causing chaos in their 'peaceful' lifestyle. Until a year later, during one of her midnight walks, Anura caught glimpse of something green flying across the sky. Curious, she decided to investigate. What she found was a girl from another planet emerge from a crater. Then one-by-one, Anura and girl met Robin, a young shape-sifter, a cybernetic athlete and a troubled Azarathian, during a fight against the alien girl. Anura stopped the fight and snapped some sense into the group.

Physical Appearance

Anura bares the resemblance of a normal Caucasian female, however her frog-like appearance makes her stand out from the crowd. Green soft and smooth skin with freckles under her large, hazel-nearly green eyes and across her nose. Light green underbelly and cheeks. Heart-shaped head with cute, elven facial features, complete with a pair of pointed, elven ears. Tall and slender, but healthy build with a average size chest, long waist and small hips. Slightly larger hands with four fingers and opposible thumbs.

Her hair is a ravenette color with a dark blue shine, and is very long, reaching all the way to her waist, the ends tied together at the bottom in a bow of hair. She has two shoulder-length clumps framing her face, and shorter bangs between her eyes, some of them partially swept to each side.

Anura wears a black, armored, hooded wetsuit with no sleeves and the leggings reach just above the knees under a dark green kimono top. Dark green accents. Black boots and black gauntlets. A dark green utility belt.

Powers, Abilities and Skills

• Frog Physiology: Anura's main Metahuman abilities allows her to do anything a frog can do, such as:
  • An extremely long tongue that can be used to grasp onto objects and people.
  • An ability to grip a variety of different surfaces, including tightropes and walls.
  • Anura is able to swim well and thus navigate water environments with particular ease.
  • Anura's stomach is capable of inflating, which allows her to secrete an irritating toxin contained in the walls of her stomach. Eleanor can also use her stomach to store items she swallows, regurgitating them if necessary.
  • Anura can produce a mucus on her arms that has a distinctive scent, which can be used to confuse foes that rely on smell. It can also function as a paralyzing agent if an opponent comes into contact with enough of it.
  • Cold temperatures can fatigue Anura to the point of forced hibernation.
  • She can Camouflage herself to blend into her surroundings to a certain degree.

• Martial Arts/Parkour: Due to her frog-like physiology, Eleanor is a very skilled acrobat with talents in parkour and martial arts respectively.

• Master Detective: Like her father, Eleanor has a genius-level intellect and can solve riddles and puzzling crimes committed by the most skilled and intelligent criminals and psychopaths, like Joker or Riddler.

• Multilingualism: Like her mother and father, Eleanor is skilled in multiple languages and is fluent in French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Russian.

Weaknesses

• Headaches:

• Astraphobia/Brontophobia: Due to her sensitive nature and over-sensitive senses, Eleanor has a terrible fear of thunderstorms. It can render her immobile or submissive.

• Camera-shy and Crowds: Eleanor is extremely shy and extremely uncomfortable when it comes to cameras and large crowds. So she tries to avoid them as much as possible.

• Nearsightedness:

• Cold Blooded: As frogs are cold-blooded creatures, Anura is highly sensitive to the cold, with prolonged exposure making her feel drowsy and lethargic. Exposure to sudden cold puts Anura into a hibernation-like state, rendering her completely unable to do anything until she warms up. In addition, she is susceptible to high heat and fire, as her aquatic nature leaves her vulnerable to drying out.
